Possessive Roth
For those who need a possessive Roth moment:
“If you let him kiss you, I would have spent the rest of the night reminding you who the fuck you belong to,” he murmured. “No one’s allowed to touch you.”
Draft of Bitter Secrets © 2021 Mia Knight
Bitter Secrets is so long that it will need to be split into two books and both of them are gonna be THICK. Anyway, there's still some missing parts that haven't fallen into place yet, so I thought I would share a portion of part 1 (which is the same length as Bitter Heat) with my patrons. This is the raw draft and not the final so they're seeing dialogue and scenes that may not make it into the published book. That's what Patreon is about, getting a behind the scenes look at my writing and publishing process. I'll be revising and editing this month and posting 2 chapters a week. These chapters are long as hell, so it takes time for me to get through them. I tend to rewrite a lot, so actually knowing I have to post forces me to stop messing with it and just get it out. This is completely foreign to me to show anything that isn't complete, but I've been finding this to be a healthy experience. It kind of breaks down the barrier between author and reader and strips away the layer of mystery and you get to see things in their rawest form. I wanted to see what questions the readers had and make sure I answer them in the second half. Also, what the author may be focused on isn't what the reader is interested in so I'm curious to see what comes of that. My story pacing has slowed down a lot. I've been taking more time with scenes, dialogue, and character building, which is the reason for the massive word count. It definitely won't be for everybody, but for those who want to go deep into this world, we're gonna explore every inch of it.
By the time I post part 1, I'm hoping my mind will figure out how to wrap up these scenes in part 2 and I can finally finish the first draft. Sigh.
Life Update
My Lhasa Apso who slipped a disc in his back is getting better every day. Sometimes, he thinks he's back to normal and tries to run and I freak out and try to keep him contained so he doesn't do further damage. His left leg still drags a bit, but hopefully that will go away with time and more rest.
It's freaking hot as balls in Hawaii. OMG. The trade winds deserted us this week and it was this suffocating blanket of heat... I didn't want to do anything. I think I'm going to edit at the beach tomorrow because I need to get out of the house.
Wish me luck!
