Bitter Secrets Snippet
“You let me claim what I shouldn’t have had access to in the first place. You should know not to feed a poor man because he’ll never leave you alone.”
A tear splashed on the gleaming surface of the desk.
“The poor man’s become a rich man. Now he can afford to gorge, but nothing measures up.” He rocked against her stinging ass. “There’s an empty well inside him that nothing can fill. He’ll topple companies, destroy relationships, pay millions to reclaim what he once got for free.” He buried his face in her hair. “He didn’t realize that he was still starving.”

This is a clip from a pretty intense fight they have, which may be a hard limit for some. We'll see. You know how the main characters get into these massive fights and it's these glass breaking, shout-till-you-lose-your-voice showdowns? Roth and Jasmine have one of those every couple of chapters. I think it's inevitable considering their past and how much has been unsaid between them all these years. And even when one thing gets cleared up, four more pop up.

Thank you to everyone who sent well wishes about my doggy! Thank God he is making progress and starting to walk again! My mom had this dog stroller that she pushed her Pomeranians around in that I used to tease her about. Guess who's now pushing their dog around in it? :( Oh, God. Anyway, he's doing a lot better, but I'm still trying to get him to rest so he doesn't injure himself further. Thank you for all the advice!
My brother came home to Hawaii for a funeral and gave me the best laugh I've had in ages. Apparently, someone pulled out some homemade lemon peel moonshine at this celebration of life and chaos ensued. My dad was there as my brother's DD (designated driver) and lost track of him. They put a mini search party together and finally found my brother passed out in the bed of someone's truck. My dad was woefully unprepared to handle my brother who was drunk as a skunk. My parents are super conservative and have never had to deal with stuff like this when we were younger since most of us moved away or covered for each other. Listening to them fret about my brother's state and hover over him as he slept off his hangover was the funniest shit I've heard in a long time. My brother claims he doesn't remember any of this. I made sure to tell him every detail. I haven't seen my brother blush in years. I promptly called up my other siblings and told them everything. LMFAO. My brother is the youngest at 31 so this kind of stuff doesn't really happen anymore, but it was a little bit of fun and excitement that got our parents hearts pumping. :D
Summer's hit full force in Hawaii. By 4pm I don't want to do anything, it's so hot. I spend a lot of time on the lounge chair editing or writing. Having more daylight has definitely given me more energy. I feel like it's going to be a great summer!
Hope you guys are safe and well!
