Bitter Secrets Snippet
London
Even he wouldn’t be so cruel, could he? The doors opened and any hope that Roth had an iota of empathy vanished. It was the same penthouse. She stepped into the elegant entry hall, boots clicking on black marble as she led the way into the main living area, which faced Hyde Park. Her gaze moved around the room, which she had only seen once, but was heartbreakingly familiar. The vase of orchids had been replaced with cheery red amaryllis. Like the lobby, not much had changed since the night she walked out on him.
Some days I wish I never laid eyes on you. Her scalp prickled as his words drifted through her mind.
“Do you want me to take your bags into the master?” Johan asked.
She turned to him. “I want to go to a hotel.”
He paused. “Is something wrong?”
Yes! This was the backdrop of her nightmares, the place where he shattered her heart into a million pieces. He didn’t think twice about bringing her here because what was one of the worst nights of her life didn’t mean shit to him.

If you want to see an extended version of this snippet, you can join my Patreon where I post sneak peeks up to 3 times a week. Right now there’s 30+ snippets waiting to be devoured and you have the girls on our Discord server to commiserate with as I finish this behemoth and they are suffering dearly, but my goal is to start posting chapters by the end of the month and we have our monthly Q&A coming up this week so you can get in on that if you're interested.
My progress on this novel is slow, but steady. I've had to do a ton of research to make things as authentic as possible. I found myself researching hotels in Copenhagen, Denmark, how to get out of a rear bear hug, and the wealthiest billionaires in Europe for some background. It's funny how imperative I think some details are and how little actually makes it into the book. I guess that's for my reference so I have a better picture/idea of what's going on. I have a feeling this book is going to be exactly like Carmen's books and span more than I want them to, but I'm not going to worry about that now. I'm just going to finish their story and figure the rest out later.
