I started a YouTube channel!
I've been wanting to do a YouTube channel for so long and I finally did it! In February 2026, after self publishing as Mia Knight for 9 years, I unveiled my face on social media. It’s been scary, liberating, and a relief. I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. The anticipation and uncertainty was the worst. Now, it’s over and I can now talk directly to my audience!
I’ve always shared information through blogs and newsletters, but I think it’s far more effective to make an all-encompassing video to answer frequently asked questions and share updates on current works in progress. Most social media platforms don’t want videos that are more than a couple of minutes long and most readers never see the posts, so I thought a YouTube channel would be a good option for me. Warning! I’m a chatterbox! LOL. I go into a lot of detail on things so if that isn’t your thing, I’ll still post blogs or you can visit my Instagram for the abbreviated version.
On my channel, I plan to chat about the characters, story origins, writing process, and all kinds of things! I won’t be posting on a schedule since writing is my main priority, but I intend to post updates and make videos when I can.
To start, I made a video about the future of the Crime Lord Series. I go all the way back to 2018 when I published Awakened by Sin and explain the switch to the Singed Series, the delays, and a bit about my personal story:
I also made an update video on book 4 in the Singed Series. Again, this is something I’m asked about on a daily basis. I share some snippets and change of direction the book has taken. I also discuss some personal challenges I’ve gone through that have had an effect on the book and has driven me to taken ownership of my work.
I wanted to thank all of the readers who have taken a chance on me and supported my work. I wouldn’t be closing in on 10 years as a self-employed indie without you all! I’m getting my life back on track and am focusing on completing the Singed Series & Carmen’s story arc. It’s going to take me some time, but we’ll get there and I’m going to bring you along with me!
